Mkhwebane Impeachment | Legal funding runs low

CAPE TOWN - The Section 194 Inquiry into suspended Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane's fitness to hold office might be in jeopardy.

Mkhwebane's legal representation is set to be terminated due to her funding being cut off by the Acting Public Protector's office.

The office claims that it is not in a position to extend its funding commitment due to lack of funding.

It says the 2023 expenditure for legal services sourced by the office for the financial year has exceeded the allocated budget.
