Mkhwebane impeachment | Inquiry might wrap up soon

PARLIAMENT - The Section 194 inquiry into our suspended Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane fitness to hold office could wrap up its work sooner than expected.

This announcement has been prompted by Busisiwe Mkhwebane's repeated failure to meet deadlines and her recent appearance before the committee without legal representation.

On 9 June, the committee unanimously agreed to modify its approach and send written inquiries to Mkhwebane.

Should she choose not to respond, the committee will carefully evaluate the available evidence it has before it.
