The minister will engage with authorities on matters 'material to initiatives' announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa of the African Leaders' Peace Mission to Russia and Ukraine.
The minister has also sent a team of high-level officials to Ukraine in preparation of a peace mission initiative.
Ramaphosa last week announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelenskiy have agreed to convene a gathering of African leaders.
Their aim would be to thrash out a potential peace plan to end the war in Ukraine. This followed bombshell allegations by US ambassador Reuben Brigety, that South Africa may have aided Russia in its onslaught in Ukraine.
