Military Veterans | Makwetla vows to pay pensions

JOHANNESBURG - The Military Veterans Department says it is ready to pay pensions, it just can't say when payments will be made.

The regulations around payments came into effect in December.

Minister Thandi Modise said back then that payments would commence in 30 days.

There are also concerns among some vets that non-statutory forces or liberation fighters are being prioritised.

Deputy Minister Thabang Makwetla says the system just has to be tested.
