Meyiwa Murder Trial | 'Madlala is an evasive witness'

JOHANNESBURG - The defense in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial has accused Tumelo Madlala of being an evasive witness.

The lawyer for accused one to four, Tshepo Thobane, scrutinised comments Madlala made to police that seemingly contradict what he has testified to in court.

Madlala, who was Meyiwa's best friend, was in the Vosloorus house when Meyiwa was shot in October 2014.

When Madlala was last in court he pointed out one of the accused and said he had been present in the house on the night Meyiwa was killed.

Meanwhile, a request by the lawyer representing Meyiwa’s then-girlfriend Kelly Khumalo to be allowed back inside the courtroom and have access to documents has been denied.
