CAPE TOWN - Former first lady Marike de Klerk's killer Luyanda Mboniswa will be a free man by the end of this month.
Correctional Services has confirmed he's been placed on parole effectively from 30 August.
Mboniswa was convicted of the murder of former president FW De Kerk's first wife in 2001.
He was sentenced to life behind bars at the age of 21.
Mboniswa was considered for parole after serving the minimum required time.
The department says he will be admitted into the system of community corrections.
He's expected to comply with specific parole conditions for the rest of his life.
