JOHANNESBURG - On Saturday several organisations will be marching in Braamfontein to highlight the issue of safe abortions, while also tearing down posters advertising illegal abortion services.

In South Africa, despite laws that allow safe abortions, data collected by Ibis Repoductive Health shows that between 12 and 26 percent of abortions are carried out by illegal providers.
Data from the rest of the continent, between 2010 and 2014, shows that Africa accounted for 29 percent of all unsafe abortions worldwide. And 62 percent of all related deaths.
