JOHANNESBURG - Former North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo says branch executive members of the ANC should be appointed by the community.
Mahumapelo says this would keep members accountable, knowing they could be removed at any time.
The governing party has been plagued by allegations of corrupt officials.
"At the branch level, we must change the modus operandi. In the paper, I am suggesting that instead of us having a branch of 100 members electing a branch executive committee of 15, we must change the thing around and have the community be the one that is giving the ANC a branch executive committee of 25 people," he said.
