KHAYELITSHA, CAPE TOWN - ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa has admitted to the failures and poor electoral performance of the party.
He says the loss of an outright majority in the 2024 elections was a ‘sad moment’ and a huge ‘setback’.
Ramaphosa was delivering the ANC National Executive Committee's January 8th statement on Saturday in Khayelitsha, Cape Town.

He spoke about the state of the economy, the unemployment crisis and poor basic services.
The ANC's support in last year's elections declined by a whopping 17%.
Ramaphosa said if the party fails to respond effectively to such a setback, the progress of socio-economic transformation could be derailed.
