POLOKWANE - Police in Limpopo have cracked open a national drug ring operating from a farm in Groblersdal.
This was after the Hawks received information about suspicious activities at the farm.
They have busted a drug lab and recovered large quantities of chemicals used in the manufacturing of illicit drugs with an estimated street value of R2 billion.
They also found acetone as well as crystal meth among other chemicals.
The intelligence-driven operation was led by members of the Limpopo Tactical Response Team and the Serious Organised Crime Investigation team.
Two Mexican nationals are among those who have been arrested.
The suspects will make their first appearance in the Groblersdal Magistrate’s court on Monday, on charges of manufacturing, dealing and possession of illicit drugs.
