JOHANNESBURG - The City of Johannesburg has terminated the contract of a service provider appointed to repair a part of Lilian Ngoyi Street in the CBD.
In a letter, the city’s roads agency tells Step Up Engineering it's unhappy with what it calls the company’s failure to resolve defaults in due time.
JRA says despite it giving Step Up Engineering time to rectify the situation – the company's inaction has resulted in there not being substantial progress in work on site.
It further states the company breached parts of its contract.
There’s been public concern over the delays in repairing the road and other infrastructure damaged in a July 2023 gas explosion.
