DURBAN - The eThekwini Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal is working with private companies to improve its disaster response efficiency.
The metro has received a R4-million cash injection to better equip firefighters and other responders.
It's hoped more manpower will help prevent and reduce the severity of any future disasters.
Firefighters have already started using the gear for emergency response.
