Koeberg refurbishments behind schedule could cause more blackouts: Ramokgopa

JOHANNESBURG - The Koeberg power plant is behind schedule with refurbishments and Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa is warning that delays could worsen power cuts.

Koeberg is the country’s only nuclear power station.

It is undergoing an extension of life which involves the replacement of all the steam generators in both units.

"I have asked for a more detailed report and the more we get an indication on what the issues are the more we are getting very, very worried," said Ramokgopa.
