Katlego Bereng remembered at funeral service

BLOEMFONTEIN - A loving father to his children, passionate about football and reliable.

That's how family and friends describe Katlego Bereng, who’s finally been laid to rest.

Bereng’s body was planted in Thabo Bester's cell as part of his elaborate escape from the Mangaung Correctional Centre last year.

His family has been searching for him for over a year.

The 32-year-old went missing in March 2022.

DNA tests confirmed that his body was the one set alight in Bester's cell. 

The father of two has been described as someone who was loved by many.
