Previously, Stoman's wife stated in court that the elderly farmer had been told by doctors that he only has six months to live after a cancer diagnosis.
Stoman faces two counts of attempted murder for running over 6-year-old Khwezi Jantjies in September and breaking both of his legs.
The child's family has accused Stoman's legal representatives of causing unnecessary delays in judicial proceedings.
