Judgment reserved in royal succession case

PRETORIA - The AmaZulu royal family members and nation are anxiously waiting for judgment in the battle for the throne case heard at the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria.

Judge Norman Davis has reserved judgment in the matter between Prince Simakade and the President.

Prince Simakade is challenging President Cyril Ramaphosa’s decision to recognise his brother King MisuZulu KaZwelithini as the monarch.

He claims to be the rightful heir to the throne as King Zwelithini’s first-born son, nominated by the royal family and affiliated to the late Queen Mantfombi through the custom of “ukufakwa esiswini.”
