Joshlin kidnapping trial | Accused's alleged confessions to be tested in court

SALDANHA BAY - Video footage of alleged confessions by accused Steveno van Rhyn and Jacquen "Boeta" Appollis in the Joshlin Smith trial will be shown in court today.

A trial within a trial is underway to decide whether their confessions will be admissible. 

Van Rhyn and Appollis claim they were tortured by police into confessing to the disappearance of Joshlin Smith. 

Today, a second doctor is expectd to take the stand to testify on whether there’s any evidence of assault. 

The trial continues at the Western Cape High Court in Saldanha Bay, where Smith went missing  over a year ago.
