Joburg residents frustrated after days without water

JOHANNESBURG - Over the past few days communities in and around Johannesburg have been grappling with a severe water outages.

Despite previous assurances of resolving the matter at the Eikenhof pumping station, it appears that the cause of the problem still persists.

Frustration among residents of Umlazi's BB section continues to mount, because of continuous disruptions in their water supply.

To draw attention to their two-month-long struggle without access to water, the community took to the streets on Sunday, protesting the lack of water.

Rand Water will shut the whole system down between 20 and 22 of June, to install a new pipeline at the Eikenhof station.
