Joburg R5bn in the red, MMC blames predecessors

JOHANNESBURG - The City of Johannesburg has a deficit of R5-billion.

Finance MMC Dada Morero revealed this in a budget speech on Tuesday.

He says the metro is working hard to resolve the issue he blames on his predecessors.

Morero also said there have been significant losses in water and electricity in the city.

He blames this on poor management by the previous administration.

Morero assures that there is a plan to ensure the city gets back on its feet.
