JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg Emergency Services are assessing the storm damage in different parts of the city.
On Monday, a hail storm damaged cars and homes in some parts of Midrand, Soweto and Johannesburg.
More rainfall is expected today.
Emergency management services spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi says people must remain vigilant.
"There was also an incident reported at a hotel in Rosebank. There were people evacuated. Also, in Soweto, a lady fell into a sinkhole and was treated for minor injuries," he said.
"In our informal settlements we didn’t receive any major incidents. Our motorists, we are urging them to follow safe distance and avoid crossing roads affected by the storm.”
