JOHANNESBURG - Survivors of the tragic Marshalltown fire that took place over a month ago find themselves in limbo.

Earlier this month, residents in the south of Johannesburg barricaded roads in protest to stop the relocation of the fire victims into their area.

The victims were then taken to several shelters, but they're now being forced to evacuate.

Human rights activists say they've written to President Cyril Ramaphosa for assistance or a plan to assist those who were affected.

Activist Andy Chinnah says the conditions people are living in are not ideal because they were not given a clear plan when disaster struck.

Chinnah said people do not want to live on the streets.
