JOHANNESBURG - If you are a motorist in Johannesburg, you've surely noticed the unofficial pointsmen directing traffic at lights and intersections.
Director of the city's metro police, Thulani Khanyile, says they have deployed officers to remove these people, but it's still a work in progress.
"We've identified those spots, we have more than 1,000 officers that we've deployed," Khanhile said.
"Should there be an accident there's going to be a problem because they're are not trained to do that so it's going to come back to us."
