Investigations underway
JOHANNESBURG - As investigations continue into cybercrime at the Public Works and Infrastructure Department.
Minister Dean Macpherson says the theft could involve up to R300 Million.
He says the money has been stolen over the past 10 years.
In the latest incident that place in May this year, cyber-attackers stole a further R24 million.
Four officials have been suspended and 30 laptops seized by the investigators.
This includes three senior management officials and one middle management official.
The Hawks, Police the State Security Agency, and ICT and cyber security sector experts are conducting the investigations.
