Unions to engage workers on underground protest
JOHANNESBURG - Over 2,000 Implats workers remain underground on Tuesday morning.
Impala Platinum says it's closely monitoring the illegal strike.
Workers refused to resurface Monday at two shafts at Bafokeng Rasimone Mine in the North West.
Management has since suspended operations at the shafts and recalled all other employees.
The miners are yet to share their demands and grievances with management.
Implats also says it has been engaging unions and they're still unclear about the root of the workers' unhappiness.
