Impala mining accident | Families to identify bodies

RUSTENBURG - Families of the 11 miners who died at the Impala Platinum Mine in Rustenburg will identify their bodies on Wednesday.

An elevator unexpectedly dropped 200 metres, leaving 75 others injured.

Mine management is expected to announce the names of those who died and details of a memorial service.  

While mine bosses say they will investigate the accident, unions are unanimous on where the blame lies.
