HPCSA dismisses allegations that marks for candidates were altered

HPCSA says marks were not doctored

JOHANNESBURG - Health Professions Council of South Africa says the notion that the council is in cahoots to push for a particular pass rate is completely unproven.

This comes after the South African Internationally Trained Health Professionals Association accused the council and UKZN of pass rate manipulation.

It's understood this stems from the fact that 70 percent of those who wrote exams in October failed their exam. 

David Mametja from the council acknowledges that the candidates' performance on theory exams was poor.
