JOHANNESBURG - Home Affairs has once again extended the validity of the Zimbabwean Exemption permits.
They were due to expire at the end of this month, but are now valid until 31 December.

Home Affairs Minister, Aaron Motsoaledi said,"we are extending [the deadline] for the second time, not many times, it's two times."
"It was due to expire in 2022, we extended it to June this year, we are extending once more."
"When we extended it to June, I clearly said a committee which is due to assess the visas have sat down to assess the amount of work that is needed, and the numbers and realised that we need more time."
"This time around we are extending it for a simple reason; we said from May to the beginning of June there has been an avalanche of applications."
