JOHANNESBURG - The City of Johannesburg has begun reclaiming some of its hijacked property.
On Wednesday, officials pounced on what should have been a Joburg Metro Police Department impound lot.
A police officer is among the arrested suspects.
An informal settlement had begun mushrooming on the vacant property.
Hijacked buildings were brought into the spotlight after 77 people died in a fire that gutted one of the city's buildings in Marshalltown last week.
Officials say they'll continue with inspections and attempts to reclaim hijacked buildings and land.
