Higher Education Dept to form safety, security task force

Minister Blade Nzimande made the announcement earlier at Fort Hare University in the Eastern Cape.

It follows the murder of Mboneli Vesele, the bodyguard of Vice Chancellor Sakhele Buhlungu.

It's believed the assailants were after Buhlungu, whose life has been threatened before.

Nzimande says the department has identified institutions that require monitoring where safety is concerned.
