Heightened security for Cape Town city manager

CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town is taking no chances.

It has significantly increased protection for its City Manager, Lungelo Mbandazayo.

This after seven armed men were found close to his home last week, and arrested.

Mbandazayo commissioned an investigation into tender fraud at the City of Cape Town last year and this investigation led to staff being disciplined, fired, arrested and brought before court.

He also blacklisted a number of companies from doing work with the city for a period of time.

These companies were either owned by or linked to Nicole Johnson, the wife of alleged 28s gang leader, Ralph Stanfield.
