Health Depts wants to ensure hospitals don't experience blackouts

JOHANNESBURG - The Health Department says it is aiming to ensure more hospitals do not experience power cuts.

Eskom has exempted 72 healthcare facilities in the country from the rolling blackouts.

However, the department needs just over 200 more hospitals to be prioritised for possible exemption.

Health Department spokesperson Foster Mohale says power cuts are potentially dangerous at hospitals.
