JOHANNESBURG - The ANC 55th elective conference gets underway on Friday.
The governing party is going to Nasrec faced with internal squabbles, and experts say the party is more divided than its ever been.
Despite this, NEC member and former Tourism Minister Derek Hanekom says the mood is jovial and delegates are determined to make this conference a success.
"We're determined to make it a successful conference," he said.
"I got a sense of good spirit, people are determined to make this conference a good one knowing that there are numerous challenges."
