Gumede corruption trial to resume next week

DURBAN - The fraud and corruption case against former eThekwini Mayor Zandile Gumede has been postponed after a brief court appearance on Wednesday.

This follows witnesses coming forward to express their fear following a shooting at a witness' house this week. Senior SAPS and Hawks officials are working on completing risk assessments for witnesses set to testify.

The case relates to a dodgy R320-million Durban Solid Waste contract.
