JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance is taking government to court over the high cost of electricity and rolling blackouts.
It says South Africans can no longer afford what it calls ‘out of control’ price hikes.
The party blames the ANC for enabling the situation.
In March, the energy regulator approved tariff hikes of over 30 percent over the next two years.
The DA wants the court to force both NERSA and Eskom to scrap those increases.
It also seeks to have rolling blackouts declared unconstitutional.
