CAPE TOWN - There are now measures in place to deal with the backlog of court cases.
That’s according to Justice Minister Ronald Lamola.
He says power cuts also contribute to backlogs, and generators have been purchased to expedite cases.

Lamola also says the sexual offences court is being strengthened.
The minister said gender-based violence and femicide remain a priority for the justice department.
He says government has made significant progress in fighting the scourge.
