Gold One 'hostage' drama | Miners remain underground

JOHANNESBURG - The drama continues underground as over 500 mineworkers are still being held hostage, allegedly by AMCU members, at the East Modder Gold Mine.

Negotiations are still underway between mineworkers’ unions and Gold One Mine in Springs.

The miners are not backing down and refuse to resurface, as a form of protest, until their demands are met and their union AMCU is recognised.

NUM is claiming that some of its members, who are part of the 500 underground have been assaulted.
