Gift of the Givers gives update on Hammanskraal cholera crisis

TSHWANE - Gift of the Givers has been distributing thousands of litres of bottled water in Hammanskraal to try and alleviate the cholera crisis.

At least 15 people have died since the cholera outbreak in the area, north of Pretoria.

And residents have been warned not to drink contaminated and untreated water.

Gift of the Givers' Clifford Mabe said, "we were dispatched on Monday to Jubilee hospital, we distributed about 1,400 five litres and then 140 ten litres."

"We went to four clinics in Hammerskraal and about 1800, 5 litres were distributed. We engaged with the community, people are still panicking, we do not know where this cholera is coming from."
