General elections | IEC ready for next year's vote

JOHANNESBURG - The Independent Electoral Commission says it's all systems go for the 2024 general elections despite the election date not yet declared.

CEO Sy Mamabolo says the commission has been talking to the President.

He says the commission will be ready for any date in the window period of May to August next year.

He said, "we anticipate that as has been the case for the past three decades, that the date of the provincial election will be harmonised with the national election".
