GDE extends online placement deadlines for Grade 1 and 8

JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng Education Department has extended the online placement deadlines for Grades 1 and 8 pupils to the 30th of January.

This as frustrated parents complains about spending hours in queues outside district offices with little to no assistance.

Some of the parents have shared how they had been making rotations between different schools some being told that their children are not on the register. 

The same scenes were also witnessed in  Pretoria where thousands of parents are hoping to find placement for their children as the 2025 academic year begins.
