JOHANNESBURG - Over the course of nine-years, Police Detective Sergeant Palesa Tsoaelo has assisted in securing 19 life sentences and an additional 1,138 years imprisonment for 23 convicted sexual predators.

Tsoaelo, who is a rape survivor herself, joined the Secunda Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offenses unit in 2015.
She received the FCS Investigator of the Year award in recognition of her work.
