DURBAN - The LGBTQIA+ community say they experience secondary victimisation when reporting gender-based violence cases as authorities are not equipped to deal with cases such as theirs.
While GBV remains a scourge in the country, the Human Sciences Research Council found that physical and sexual assault often go unreported.
The release of the latest crime statistics has highlighted this grim reality.
