PRETORIA - Gautrain workers remain on a strike over salary increases, housing allowances and medical aid contributions.
The workers downed tools on Monday after metalworkers union Numsa issued a 48-hour strike notice to Bombela Operating Company, which manages the Gautrain.
The Gautrain links various parts of Gauteng but says there were minimal disruptions on Monday.
Numsa spokesperson Phakamile Hlubi-Majola, says Gautrain receives a R2-billion subsidy from government every year.
Hlubi-Majola says management unfairly paid themselves bonuses of R22,000, and have not shared a cent with any workers.
