JOHANNESBURG - The darker side of the holiday season is the carnage on our roads.
Over 80 people have already died on Gauteng roads, most of them pedestrians.
Traffic police are urging motorists to drive with caution as people make their way to holiday destinations.
Gauteng Traffic Police spokesperson Sello Maremane said major roads have recorded high traffic volumes.
"The major problem that we are indeed facing is overloaded trailers as well as pedestrian jaywalking," he said.
