Gauteng online admissions | Over 800,000 applications as window closes

JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Education has received over 800,000 applications for Grades 1 and 8.

The online platform closed at midnight on Thursday.

The department is now encouraging all parents to make sure all documentation has been submitted.

"Our system is very well this year [it] didn’t have glitches," said spokesperson Steve Mabona.

"Parents could access the system very well and quite easily so it’s encouraging.

"We really need to call upon parents that have not submitted documents or uploaded documents in our system.

"They need to do that cause the deadline will be 28 July, so from 28 July we are wrapping up and making sure that we plan ahead for the placement period which will commerce on 4 September."
