Gauteng Earthquake | Boksburg homes damaged, some residents searching for alternative accommodation

JOHANNESBURG - Some Boksburg residents have been forced to find alternative accommodation after an earthquake damaged their homes.

The Council for GeoScience recorded a 4.4-magnitude quake originating in the East Rand.

The council is investigating whether mining in the area or changes in groundwater levels caused the quake.
