G4S fires 3 employees linked to Thabo Bester escape

JOHANNESBURG - G4S Correction Services says it dismissed three employees at Mangaung prison between September 2022 and January 2023.

They were on duty the night Facebook rapist Thabo Bester allegedly died in a fire.

It's now awaiting conclusions from police investigations into incidents at the prison that night.

Meanwhile, correctional services authorities are doing some introspection to understand exactly how Bester escaped.
