Four dead in Port Shepstone shootout

PORT SHEPSTONE - Four people have been confirmed dead in a shootout at a taxi rank in Port Shepstone, on Tuesday.

KwaZulu Private Ambulance spokesperson Craig Botha says one person is in a critical condition, and several others are stable.

Most of them sustained injuries while trying to run away from the shooting.

Botha said, "It was chaotic and very confusing for everybody that was here."

"A lot of people weren’t aware of what was going on. But did I hear the gunshot…There we were milling around trying to figure out what was going on."

"There was a handful of medical persons who were attending to quite a large amount of people that were shot. We jumped in to assist the injured patients."
