Officials pounce on spaza shops in wake of child deaths
JOHANNESBURG - The speaker of the Joburg council, Nobuhle Mthembu on Wednesday was inspecting spaza shops in Soweto.
This in the wake of recent cases of children who died allegedly after eating snacks from the shops.
She's calling on locals to report any wrongdoing by shop owners.
Meanwhile, Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, said President Cyril Ramaphosa will address the nation on incidents of suspected food poising across the country.
She said government is working to resolve the crisis.
