Food safety | Calls for the closure of spaza shops implicated in deaths

JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has issued a directive, for spaza shops implicated in the deaths of children to be closed with immediate effect.  

Numerous children have died after consuming snacks bought from local spaza shops tainted by poisonous chemicals.

Recently six children died after consuming food tainted with chemical poison in Naledi, Soweto.
