JOHANNESBURG - Flavio Hlabangwane has been sentenced to life in prison for premeditated murder.
Hlabangwane confessed to and was found guilty of killing and mutilating his cousin and lover, Tshepang Pitse.
The 23-year-old's body parts were found in Hlabangwane's fridge in Protea Glen, Soweto.
Judge Cassim Moosa said, "Mr Flavio Hlabangwane is sentenced as follows ...Count 1 you are sentenced to life imprisonment. 10 years for defeating ends of Justice and 15 years of violating a corpse...."
"The accused is sentenced to life imprisonment, the accused is ordered to participate in long term therapy with the focus on behaviour, anger management, and substance abuse."
